Park View Care Home

Personalised care in the heart of Suffolk

Park View Care Home is located in Chantry, Ipswich.

Purpose Built & Delivering the Highest Possible Standards

Situated, in Chantry, on the outskirts of the historic Ipswich, Park View Care and retirement homes, Ipswich is an attractive modern, purpose-built care home, providing residential and nursing care for up to 61 elderly people. Close to local transport and amenities, Chantry is just one mile away from Ipswich, the bustling county town of Suffolk.

Park View is nestled within large and attractive landscaped gardens, built with red brick and a large glass frontage which provides fantastic views of the gardens and surrounding park. As well as a comprehensive activities programme residents at Park View are treated to a quality cinema which shows their favourite films, a therapy room offering physiotherapy, aromatherapy along with a dedicated treatment room and a hospitality bar in reception.

In addition to the main spacious dining room Park View also offers residents three private dining rooms and lounges where they can chat, relax and take in the beautiful landscaped gardens.

First Care Homes, Suffolk, are passionate about ensuring residents continue to lead active leads and play a fulfilling role in the local community, to whatever extent they wish.

Park View has a qualified activities coordinator who works with every resident to develop a programme of activities designed to meet the spiritual, physical and social needs of each individual. Underpinning this approach is the creation of a ‘Life Story’ record for each resident. ‘Life Stories’ were initially devised for residents living with dementia, to create a record of the individual’s life, working with the resident and family and loved ones. However, they have proven such a useful resource for understanding and engagement that they are now being rolled out to all residents who wish to take part.

In addition to the traditional occasions known and loved by all, Park View regularly holds special weeks in all seasons, where residents can take part in themed events and staff and residents can raise money for charities.

These occasions provide a wonderful opportunity to build upon the community spirit within homes and make a difference for some very worthy causes.

Introducing Angie Ryan

Angie Ryan is the Manager of Park View Care Home.

Angie works very closely with her staff team to ensure that every resident at Park View feels completely at home. She believes in a real ‘hands on’ approach to her role, working with colleagues to create an environment that provides a full and rich quality of life for the elderly residents who they support.

Working as a Registered Nurse since the beginning of the 1990′s, it was a role as a Senior Staff Nurse on an elderly care ward that confirmed to Angie that she wanted to specialise in elder care. She moved into nursing and residential care in 1997, managing a small nursing home and, since then, Angie hasn’t looked back.

Angie is always looking to improve personally and professionally. She has a degree in Gerontological Nursing, awarded in 2003, and has more recently completed the Registered Managers Award.

Angie is determined that she and her staff never lose sight of the fact that the residents they care for have all led full, meaningful and, in many cases, extraordinary lives. She firmly believes that moving into care simply represents another stage in an individual’s life journey.
