Head of Care – Dementia

I joined the team at Park View in December 2015. Since qualifying as a Registered Nurse I have always worked in Care Homes and specifically in Dementia Care. My passion is to ensure our residents living with dementia are given outstanding and dignified care from our team and to ensure our residents really are ‘living and not just existing.’ In 2015, I commenced a course with the Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance and am now a qualified Dementia Care Coach and also a Dementia Friends Champion.

Clinical Lead

I have worked at Park View for the past two years firstly as Head of Care and since January 2019 as Clinical Lead.

I feel very fortunate to be in this position and to have the privilege to care for our unique and wonderful residents and to work alongside so many dedicated care and nursing staff.

I have completed a Level 5 course in leadership and this has proved invaluable to ensure that the care team I lead and work with deliver the highest level of person centred and holistic care at all times. The team that I lead at Park View all share the same vision and we work together to ensure all of our residents continue to live a fulfilled life for as long as possible.

I have a particular interest in end of life care and have recently completed an extra qualification in this area. I’m also about to embark on further training in end of life care. This training will be focused on the GSF (Gold Standard Framework for end of life care) and will lead to Park View being awarded accreditation for end of life care.

I love to travel and when I’m not at work I can normally be found either shopping online or looking at holiday destinations

I have worked within the Care industry since leaving education as I have always enjoyed helping others and find it fulfilling and rewarding.

Starting my career at Park View Care Home in 2013 as a Senior Carer, I was appointed Head of Wellbeing in 2018.

I have a genuine passion for the health and wellbeing of our residents and I am constantly looking for new ways and ideas the keep them stimulated; working alongside staff, residents and families to ensure they are living their life to the full extent possible and not just existing at their time within Park View.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and travelling to new places.
